The short story of a homeless man

In 2007 around 1 am I saw this homeless man lying down when I wanted to walk around Lumphini Park, but that changed! The man had been there for over two weeks as far as I could tell.

He was given a drink by the police officers at the traffic control post opposite Lumphini. Nothing was done for him for more than two weeks and he lay there. It is quite busy there and many passers-by passed by!

I walked to King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital where (of course) they were not interested! The Red Cross across the street informed me that I could contact a medical office in Bangkok. I went there and a little over two hours later I went with three people from this office to the place and three quarters of an hour later an ambulance came!

Good action ! It is of course still sad that this can happen........

The local Red Cross has dropped quite a stitch, ie with their hands in their pockets and referring them.
It would be nice to mention the name of the 'medical office in BKK'.

A tough country Thailand despite the 20 kinds of smiles!

I've seen this in other places as well.
The only types of Samaritans are the farangs, who make an effort to help.
Try explaining that to “health care” minister Anutin with blinkers
    the size of elephant ears!

do you know how it went with him? HG.

What this man must have experienced, too sad for words. Fortunately, there are still people who care about others.

Unfortunately I couldn't find out how he got on! By the way, I was in Thailand for a very short time and didn't know how to move me yet. I was very stupid not to save the address of the faculty, besides I was very upset! It is indeed very sad how things are going with the actions of the hospitals: money, money, money! In general, people are tough, except for their family. Have a look at how things are in traffic! It's finally time for the ambulances to get some more space! Only the “higher” can move around more easily with police escort!

A lot still needs to be done to make the country a bit more “social”.
