Brabant Worldwide 2016: John Vloet from Overloon in Thailand
What about people from Brabant who have left Brabant? What are they missing? How do they live in their new place? Rob Deelen and Martijn van der Sanden travel the world together again to meet them, those Brabanders who went out into the wide world.
In episode nine of the 2016 season, Martijn and Rob visit John Vloet from Overloon in Thailand. He has managed to convert a wooden stable into a successful restaurant from which even boats sail on which you can eat. With him, the gentlemen head into the mountains to his beautiful holiday home.
John Vloet:
“I am John Vloet and I have been living in Thailand for 36 years, I founded the famous restaurant The Riverside in Chiang Mai 32 years ago, which is now run by my daughter Judith, see our website: www.theriversidechiangmai.com
In the broadcast of Brabant Worldwide they have given a nice picture of Thailand, of our life here and in Holland. I have been married to my Thai wife for 30 years and don't really have many problems, I am actually mostly positive about my life in Chiang Mai and hope to keep it that way for a long time.”

Nice episode.
Amazing what this man has managed to build over the years.
Kind regards, Hendrik S.
Great, how beautiful and guys, enjoyed this broadcast.
I was there a while ago but didn't know of the existence of this
Nice restaurant but definitely go there for dinner.
I myself have been in Thailand since 1987 and I love this country intensely
Often come across Dutch people who no longer enjoy it and are very dissatisfied
Are, please look at this beautiful Brabander with a positive attitude
Then the sun will shine again, even if you don't have a Mercedes.
Be happy with the little things in life and love your neighbor
Enjoy every minute you may be there in that beautiful paradise
Fare you all well and wish you a healthy 2017
