Bingo in traffic

This morning on my way to a number of activities I saw several traffic problems within half an hour. The first, near my house, a driver had managed to drive around a piece of wall from a resort. His car had become half a piece shorter, which of course makes a difference with parking. Presumably instead of looking at the road too deep into the glass!

The second collision was hot off the press. A car stopped to give way to another; the car behind drove fast and noticed it too late. This car had major material damage. Why keep your distance and brake in time? The last case involved a motorbike and a car; slight damage but heated gestures! For me an even more reason to drive alert and to anticipate.

Dogs are a chapter apart. You can usually deduce from the behavior what is about to happen. This is especially important on the motorbike! If you see the animal looking tense to the other side of the road, slow down because then action can be expected. At night they sometimes lie on unlit roads with their heads half on the street to sleep. One time I had a difficult day. There was a very nice puppy, who was oblivious to any harm and happily hopped along the two-lane road. Whatever you did, same ritual the next day! One morning this puppy was spread out on the road like a rug. Very sad!

I am not allowed to have dogs, etc. in my rented house. I hope the dog will not have suffered.

With my in-laws in the Isaan exactly the same regarding dogs. There, a number of dogs perform precisely in an unlit and unclear bend in the middle of the street to sleep. She doesn't do anything for upcoming headlights. Entering the corner at a walking pace is the best way to stop in time. Then the heads of some of the dogs rise slightly to lower just as slowly and continue to sleep. Driving around it in a wide curve as far as possible is the only way to continue your journey.

Of course it also says something about the relaxed life in Thailand. amazing thailand…

Yesterday was in the news. More traffic deaths in the past month of January than in January last year .
I have already forgotten the numbers , but it was quite an increase .
Someone wrote compare it to that every week a fully booked Jumbo 747 crashes somewhere in Thailand with no one surviving.
And what is the sleeping government and the brown shirts doing, so far NOTHING.
A poster here and there nailed to a tree or lamppost.
And in the meantime the school youth continue racing on increasingly heavier mopeds.

    Jan Beute.
