Dear Martin,
Please advice about my medication diabetes type 2. My age 67 years, 169 cm tall, weight 83 kg. I cycle a lot and walk occasionally.
This morning I had a blood test where hba1c was 6.5 and blood sugar 151 mg. I read in the report that creatinine in the kidneys is 1.33 (mg) which would be too high?
As medication I take 1 tablet of glipizide 5 mg before breakfast, 850 mg of metformin after breakfast and 850 mg of metformin after dinner.
With best regards
A.

Best A,
Also take 5mg Glipizide before lunch. If that doesn't work enough, a GLP antagonist, such as Ozempic, is an option.
Always have glucose on hand in case of hypoglycemia.
Yours faithfully,
Dr. Maarten
