I've had a twitching muscle in the back of my neck for about four weeks. It's like holding a vibrator against it. Is this serious? Do I need treatment or will it go away on its own?

My name is H., 75 years old 1,67 m, 66 kg.

Takes the following medications:

• Adalat 30mg
• Metformin 2000mg
• Lanoxin 0.125mg
• Wafarin 2.5mg
• Controloc 40 mg
• Aprox 150mg
• Metoprolol 100mg
• Harnal Ocas 0.4 mg

Dear h,

A twitching muscle is a common phenomenon. In your case, it may be due to too much tension and that may be due to a wrong pillow in bed, or a chair without a headrest, in which you sit for many hours a day. Sometimes a physiotherapist can do something. However, it is not dangerous.

What else strikes me is your drug list. Can't do anything about that? Lanoxin in particular can sometimes cause poisoning at a higher age, or too high potassium values. Digoxin preparations are a bit obsolete anyway and are only used when there is no other solution.
You also take 4 drugs that affect your blood pressure. Adalat, Aprovel, Metoprolol and Hamas Ocas. Is that necessary?
