Watching Dutch competition football at Rinus in Jomtien
In the heart of Jomtien, Thailand's bustling seaside resort near Pattaya, a little piece of the Netherlands lies hidden in the winding streets lined with local food stalls and vibrant markets. Here, on the Chom Thian Sai Second Road, just beyond the smells and colors of Kiss Food and the local market, you will find a special place: Café Marktzicht.
Run by Rinus, a warm-hearted Dutchman who fell in love with Thailand years ago, Café Marktzicht is a haven for Dutch expats and football fans. With flags gently fluttering in the tropical breeze, every visitor immediately feels at home.
On a typical evening, like yesterday, the café is buzzing with excitement. Football fans gather around the screens to watch an exciting match between Feyenoord and PSV. Despite the disappointment for the Feyenoord supporters due to the result, the atmosphere in the café remains as positive as ever.
Rinus, with his unmistakable hospitality, ensures that no one is left wanting for anything. His generous gesture of providing chicken for all his guests is a testament to his commitment to ensuring everyone has a good time. It is this combination of warm welcome, shared passion for football, and the cozy atmosphere that makes Café Marktzicht a unique place.
Whether you come for the football, a chat, or just to enjoy a cold drink in good company, Café Marktzicht embodies the essence of Dutch conviviality. It is a place where memories are made, where new friendships are formed, and where you are always welcome, regardless of the outcome of the competition.
In this way, Café Marktzicht, hidden in a lively street in Jomtien, remains a part of the Netherlands, where the love for football and conviviality brings people together, far away from home.
Rinus' bar can be found on Chom Thian Sai Second Road. You walk past Kiss food and the market (Rompho Market) and then 50 meters further you see a bar street. The bar is on the right and is called Café Marktzicht.

I had never heard of this bar. Now I normally always stay in Pattaya itself, but I have regularly visited Jomtien. If I read the description, then that bar must be just past the Rompho market, coming from Pattaya.
Thank you for this tip, I didn't know this before. Tomorrow I'm going to Jomtien for 6 weeks and will definitely visit. There is another NL-oriented eatery. I think it's called the Herbergh. This is behind the bench in the street/alley when you drive from Pattaya to the boulevard in Jomtien. In the corner on the right when you turn left onto the boulevard. I've been there several times and definitely recommend it if you want to try Dutch food. Aroy. Rene
Correct; on the corner is the bar Corner House (with good live music); Café Marktzicht is on the right in that street.
I've never been there, but I'll definitely go there. After all, I live nearby.
But why Chom Thian Sai Second Road? It's not Google Earth here. Just Jomtien Second Road. Bye!
Also think it's the Rompho, don't know it, won't go in so quickly if there's a Feyenoord flag hanging on the wall lol. Then it must be something with a stork.
Soi 7, between Beach Road and Jomtien 2nd Road, so 1 soi further than Soi 5 (Immigration). Coming from 2nd Road almost immediately on the right.
Henkwag, you describe the route to Gerrit's coffee/cake etc establishment in soi 7.
You can also meet Khun Peter from Thailandblog at Rinus. Was there last Sunday too because I am a Feyenoord supporter. Very nice guy.
I can only agree with that. 😉
Unfortunately lost. The lights were slightly better, but it should have been 2-2 (I also predicted in advance).
And Rinus is indeed a top guy.
By the way, I know Peter Bosz from my youth, same age and he is also from Apeldoorn South. He played football at the time, just like me, for Apeldoornse Boys. Unfortunately I had no talent and he did, just like Peter Ressel, Edward Sturing and Frank Berghuis, all played football for the Boys.
Rinus was first in soi 2, Jomtien.
'Markzicht has been around for about two months.
Located in the large bar complex of Rompho Market. If you look from 2nd Road, Rinus is on the right (the side), in the first part.
Rinus is TOP, my credit card was hacked and thanks to Rinus I was able to get a new one
was delivered to Rinus after 7 days, because I do not have an address in Thailand.
THx
