Dear Martin,

I am H. and I am 74 years old. I recently had a check-up at the hospital. Because my left wrist hurt a lot. A picture was then taken but on that everything was fine, according to the doctor and said it was overloaded. Medication was given but it didn't help. Then to another doctor and he sees you have to have your blood tested which I did see attachment, and gave these medicines but he didn't say for how long? I would like more information from you.

I weigh 83 kilos
Long 178 cm
I use
Omeprazole Cap 20mg every other day
Pravastatin 1x 20 mg per day
Nebivolol 1x 5 mg per day
Amlodipine 1x 5 mg per day

I am left handed and the medicine is for my heart. And omeprazole for my heartburn. The medicines that are 10 for 5 days, two a day after food, seems little to me. I don't smoke or drink and I don't have a wrist picture. The next time I ask what kind of medicine they give, I also thought it was strange that I don't know what I'm getting.

Regards,

H.

Dear H.

The picture of the tablets doesn't say much. That shows the name of the producers. The strip says allopurinol, to lower uric acid. That is slightly increased (Lab). How much per day?
They apparently think you have gout. Is quite possible.
You can omit the cholesterol reducer. That causes a lot of trouble.

I thought you were left handed. Do you spend a lot of time behind the computer with a mouse? If so, try a wrist splint, available at the medical supply store. See picture.

Allopurinol only helps after a long time, if there is gout.

Sincerely,

Dr. Maarten
