Dear Martin,
I had my blood sugar checked with the doctor down the road. The result is 116 mg/dl. Normal should be 70-100. This Thai doctor advised me to use Metformin 1 tablet daily after dinner. Is that correct?
My height 178, weight 91 kg, non smoker, very little alcohol. Have used Bastatin 20mg. Age almost 77, no further details.
Your advice please.
Yours faithfully,
C.

Dear C,
Have the test repeated one more time and ask to determine HbA1c.
In itself, the Metformin is good advice, in case the sugar is still too high. However, we always kept 70-110 as the upper value above the age of 120.
Sincerely,
Dr. Maarten
