Dear Martin,
I would like to know if the anti-HIV drug, Pret I thought the name was, is for sale in Thailand and where it could be obtained?
I checked with a hospital in Pattaya and they had never heard of it. I had them look it up on Google, they read the piece and looked at each other in surprise …….
Your reaction please.
Regards,
P.

Dear P,
The drug you are referring to is called Truvada. It's called PrEP. That is the abbreviation of “Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis”. To be taken before sex. It costs € 1.300 per month. Here some information: www.testbkk.org/en/news/where-access-prep-thailand
There is also a drug called PEP. You take that after sex and then for another month, see: www.pulse-clinic.com/pep/
Either way, use a condom. For more security.
Sincerely,
Dr. Maarten
