Dear Martin,
I am in Koh Chang. I suffer from an ear that has been closed for days. What can I get from the Pharmacy to solve this? I already got nasal spray here but it doesn't help.

Dear S,
Lukewarm salad oil, corn oil, etc. softens the wax. Do two days. Then some peroxide (H2O2 – available at the pharmacy) and let it fizz for a minute. Then try to spray it clean with a lukewarm shower. Do not beam directly into ear. If that doesn't work, have it sprayed out at the doctor.
A drop of vinegar prevents many ear infections. Useful for swimmers.
