Dear Martin,

I'm sorry to bother you again, but I still have a question regarding balance disorder. Every morning I suffer from balance disorder while walking or better fast walking. I run 7,5 km but not fast and have to concentrate not to go left or right. Normally I don't suffer from it so only when walking.

Now I know that this has to do with your ears and I had them checked and a small tumor was discovered in the left ear, which the ENT doctor considers to be a small tumor. The 2nd ENT doctor didn't think it was important and said it was definitely not a tumor or cancer.

After 3 months I went back to the 1st ENT doctor who confirmed to me that his first examination was wrong and he confirmed to me that it was certainly not cancer.

My question to you is could it have something to do with my balance disorders and if so, what remedy could I take to do something about it without having to go to a hospital. As a state pensioner and no insurance (I was insured with a Thai insurance company until I was 70, but their conditions then only read insurance up to 70 years.) I was refused by all other insurance companies because of my age.

I am 79 (almost 80) do not smoke or drink, 1,78 m (was 3 before my 1,80 hernia operations and now weigh 77 kg.). Just use 1 tablet of 5mg Stercia for my prostate and 1 tablet of NAT D vitamin. I only suffer from my Hernia (new operation is no longer possible) and for the rest I feel fine and have no problems with anything except the said balance disorder.

Thank you very much for reading my story.

Yours sincerely.

J.

Dear J,

Perhaps the ENT doctor has diagnosed a bridge angle tumor. www.stichtinghoormij.nl/nl-nl/brughoektumor/heb-ik-een-brughoektumor/symptoms-2

A tumor is not the same as cancer. Tumor means tumor and that can be malignant. Cancer is always malignant. However, a benign tumor can cause problems because it takes up space and damages another structure. Your complaints may therefore indeed be related to the tumor in your left ear.

A tumor in the ear canal almost never causes balance problems, although it is not impossible. This is often the result of many ear canal infections.

Because you only have trouble walking, it is also possible that your heart rate is too low. When getting out of bed it starts and a little later it decreases again.

Low blood pressure can also cause it. You can measure all this yourself.

Yours faithfully,

Dr. Maarten
