Dear Martin,
I stay in Thailand for periods of 3 to 4 months and then bring enough medicines from Belgium. An extended stay in Thailand is now necessary due to Covid19, and as a result I risk a shortage of my daily medication.
I take daily 1 Asaflow (80mg) + 1 Rosuvastatin (10mg) and 1 Lipanthylnano (145mg). For Asaflow there is apparently a substitute here (ASATAB), although I have not yet inquired about availability in a pharmacy. For the 2 other medicines I do not immediately find a clear and valid alternative.
What can you possibly recommend to me?
I am 66 years old, (regular) moderate drinker, non smoker, slightly overweight. I also take Zyloric (enough supply) and currently some extra Vitamin C.
Regards,
G.

Dear Guy,
– Asatab is OK. Aspen 81 too.
– Rosuvastatin (Cholestor, Rostatin, Rovastor, Rosuvastatin, Surotin, Otagil, K-zuva) They will have one. If they have Rosuvastatin GPO. Then take that. Is much cheaper. Unfortunately, many GPO (Government Pharmaceutical Organization) drugs have been withdrawn from the market.
– Lipanthylnano (Fenofibrate (GPO) 160mg.
When you are back home, I would discuss with the doctor whether the lipanthyl and Rosuvastatin are really necessary.
Yours faithfully,
Dr. Maarten
