Do you ever skip breakfast in Thailand? Or do you not eat anything in the morning? That may not be a good choice. Eating breakfast ensures that people are more active during the day and that they eat less during the rest of the day, according to research.

The University of Bath studied obese (overweight) people. The subjects were divided into two groups, with one group having to eat breakfast and eat at least 700 kilocalories before 11 am. The other group was only allowed to drink water in the morning.

The aim of the study was to investigate the link between breakfast, weight and health. The results of the study show that the subjects who had breakfast in the morning were more active, even though they ate less later in the day.

According to the researchers, this increase in activity after breakfast is good for improving the health of people who do not exercise enough during the day. “While many people disagree about whether or not they should eat breakfast, there is a lot of scientific evidence today about how breakfast can change health,” explains one researcher.

In a follow-up study, the researchers therefore want to investigate the differences between breakfasts. In the end, they hope to be able to make recommendations on what is best to eat in the morning.

I can go a whole day without food, but if I don't have breakfast I feel irritable and will crave something all the time.
