There is a great demand for tests from people who are worried after contact with a person who is (possibly) infected and people with cold symptoms.

An antibody test is only usable 2 – 3 weeks after infection, the antigen test after 5 – 7 days. The PCR test remains technically the slightly better option but also has disadvantages (only available in hospital, results sometimes even take days, expensive for "low risk persons").

The big advantage is of course that this test is free (in HH Hospital) for "high risk persons". And the PCR test is accepted by all airlines and consulates, the antigen test is not yet (so patients have to check whether the test is suitable for their purpose).

The antigen test gives you a result after 30 minutes. At Be Well, this, available from Friday, April 23, costs 1700 baht.

I think the price for this rapid test is very high. Especially when you see what a rapid test costs in the Netherlands. 5 tests for 30 euros. 6 euros per test. That's not even 300 baht.

At the checkpoints on Phuket, a non-Thai pays 500 baht, I read in Thaiger. In case of a negative result, no quarantine is necessary upon entry from 1 of the 17 redzone provinces.
