This beautiful video from the old box shows how a Thai family lives on the klongs in Bangkok.

The images from more than 40 years ago show that a lot of trade was conducted on the canals in Bangkok. The Thai capital was called the 'Venice of the East' at the time, the city was world famous for its many waterways.

Much of this beauty has now disappeared. The canals had to make way for roads and concrete residential buildings.

With this video from times gone by you can enjoy how it once was.

That's how it was!. Also look at the sarongs, which were widely worn at that time. Much (almost everything) was transported by water, the Hino tricks came later. The connection between Bangkok and Chiangmai (700 km) consisted of 300 km of “dirt road”……..

It's great these kinds of videos, I think there should be something like this with the newsletter every day.

Great movie just the way it was. Rather see this movie than the crowded roads and smelly cars. Even the water was already heavily polluted 5555 just like now.

    Too bad it's all gone!!
The ancient culture of Thailand and not just the 'klongs' in Bangkok.

    Look around you throughout Thailand

Especially for those who have been coming here for (much) longer, know, feel
and see what has changed (and not for the better) in Thailand.

I've been in Thailand since '89 and live there quite frequently (only the months of June to September
I am in the Netherlands) and have, with amazement and sadness, seen everything change.

Now there is another proposal on the military working table to replace the 'food stall (stole)' in Bangkok.
    going to ban.
Fortunately, there are plenty of protests against this.

what a wonderful film, it reminds me of my first encounter with Thailand in 1969. Back then everything was so pure and the smiles were real.
