Giraffe calf born at Pattaya Crocodile Farm

Among all the misery of the world, including murders, traffic accidents, fights, etc., Pattaya One reports a rare event in the garden of Pattaya Crococile Farm: the birth of a giraffe calf.

The calf was born last Wednesday amid great public interest. The birth took about 10 minutes and the calf that entered the world was healthy with a weight of 7 kilos.

A giraffe delivery is special because the mother gives birth to the calf standing up. This causes the youngster to fall almost two meters. During the fall, the pup turns so that it lands safely on its side. The gestation period of a giraffe is about fifteen months, including this calf. The nursing period lasts about a year.

It is a girl who was given the name “Kwunjai” and was welcomed by mother “Jomkomen” (3 years old) and father “Loryai” (3,5 years old) with loud applause from the numerous audience.

Kwunjai is currently the center of attention in the park and the latest news is that the family of giraffes, father, mother and child, are doing well!
