Emirates to deploy double the number of A380s on Schiphol – Dubai route for more luxury and capacity
Thailand travelers take note! Emirates flies from Dubai to Bangkok no less than 35 times a week! These flights depart at convenient times, giving you a world of connection options. And the great news for travelers from the Netherlands: Emirates now offers the iconic Airbus A380 between Schiphol and Dubai twice a day! This means twice as much luxury and comfort for Dutch travelers.
The two daily A380 flights, EK149/EK150, replace the Boeing 777-300ER and can accommodate up to 159 additional passengers per flight. The A380 is equipped with wider seats in Economy, full aisle access in Business, and even a shower in First Class. There is also a stylish onboard bar for Business and First Class passengers, a unique experience for flights to Dubai and beyond!
And although Emirates is not increasing the frequency, they will continue to offer three daily flights between Dubai and Amsterdam. The third flight is still operated by the Triple Seven. In short, this is an upgrade that makes traveling to Dubai and Asia even more enjoyable!
35 direct flights per week from Dubai (DXB) to Bangkok (BKK)
Emirates currently offers 35 direct flights per week from Dubai (DXB) to Bangkok (BKK). The daily flights depart at various times, including:
- 03: 05 hours (EK384)
- 03: 50 hours (EK376)
- 08: 55 hours (EK370)
- 09: 30 hours (EK372)
- 22: 35 hours (EK374)
Flight time varies per flight, with an average duration of around 6 hours and 20 minutes. Emirates operates both the Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 for this route, depending on the specific flight number.
'Twice the luxury and comfort' may be a bit of an exaggeration, but my personal experience is that when it comes to flying Economy, the Emirates A380 offers the best space and seating comfort.
I don't miss their business class either, but it has become quite pricey in recent years, unfortunately.
Once Emirates return flight Phuket-Dubai-Ams. Both transfer times were up to 5 hours in Dubai.
Very annoying.
Indeed, Emirates business class is more expensive than EvaAir.
So always fly Phuket-BKK-Phuket with 'local', and BKK-AMS-BKK with EvaAir.
Nice undisturbed flights of 10,5-11 hours. Arrive refreshed at your destination.
I also find EvaAir's meals tastier than Emirates'.
I find two flights of 6,5 hours and a 5-hour transfer time in between unpleasant.
Furthermore, I find the Immigration officers in BKK more pleasant/friendly than at Phuket Airport.
And you never get any attention from Customs in BKK, nothing to do with them.
Bangkok Amsterdam and vv you can decide for yourself how long the transfer will be. I have done this several times and can choose from over an hour to more than a day, plenty of choice but then take into account the departure times from the starting point. I choose 3 hours myself, ideal for walking around and more. And there can always be some delay that is why I choose 3 hours, because I have already experienced a landing cancellation which means you lose an hour with an extra round flight.
Indeed, don't choose the transfer too narrowly. I even missed a connection in Dubai once while I had a transfer time of almost 3 hours. Left Amsterdam too late, traffic above Dubai which caused a long time circling before landing, then parked somewhere far away after landing, waited for the buses, then drove for 25 minutes and then walked another 20 minutes to the departure gate. Too late, gate closed... No assistance from Emirates by the way, although it was announced when disembarking.
That Airbus 380 is terrible.
The check-in desks and security checks could not cope with the number of people.
In my opinion the airplane is not much better.
Waiting times to transfer were 8 hours.
Never again.
I also find it incomprehensible that countries that support terrorist organizations are given more landing rights in our western countries.
That is also why I certainly do not want to contribute to the terror directed at us.
Just a direct flight with EVA, that's much better, for me.
8 hours transfer time – yes, the longest transfer times for the cheapest tickets, that's a choice…..
