Medical travel insurance for Dutch citizens in Thailand
The Travel Risk Insurance is a special medical travel insurance for Dutch (or Belgians) up to the age of 70 who live abroad. This also applies to emigrants, expats and pensioners who live in Thailand and are therefore no longer able to take out standard Dutch travel insurance (you must be registered in the Netherlands for this).
The travel insurance has extensive coverage for necessary costs such as: SOS assistance, medical costs and repatriation. If you live in Thailand, you have worldwide coverage. The maximum travel duration of the Travel Risk Insurance is 90 days. The Travel Risk Insurance costs € 3 per person per day. You are then well insured all over the world!
Please note: This travel insurance does not provide cover in the country of residence. So you are not insured in Thailand, but you are when you travel to other countries!
What risks are you insured against?
The 'Travel Risk Insurance' is a complete international short-term travel and cancellation insurance. The insurance has a balanced coverage such as:
- SOS costs (including assistance, rescue and search).
- Medical costs* (including hospital, specialist, medicines and general practitioner).
- Repatriation (including ambulance plane and transport of mortal remains).
- Funeral or cremation costs and the arrival of family.
*Medical expenses are monetary reimbursements for doctors (fees) and costs of:
- hospitalization;
- operation and operating room use;
- prescribed X-rays and radioactive irradiations;
- prescription medications, bandages and massage;
- medically necessary transport, including any medically necessary evacuation and transport from a ski slope.
Your travel documents (laissez-passer purchase costs, replacement visa or other official travel document), replacement clothing and/or toiletries and damage to accommodation are also insured. Furthermore, the cover includes:
- illness, accident or missing person of the insured;
- death of the insured, illness, accident or death of the insured's family not traveling with him;
- death of a co-insured travel companion;
- damage to property of the insured in the country of residence;
- forced delay.
Please note!: Your accompanying luggage is not insured on this travel insurance policy. The emphasis is on coverage for assistance and medical costs. Costs related to existing illnesses and defects are not reimbursed. The insurance can only be taken out for insured persons up to the age of 70.
If you wish, you can also insure the following extra covers:
- Winter sports and special (winter) sports (only in Europe).
- Cancellation insurance (cancellation insurance can only be taken out when the trip is booked in the Netherlands).
