Sinterklaas with Zwarte Pieten in Hua Hin
The hearts of 36 children beat with anticipation on Saturday evening. Sinterklaas came to Say Cheese in Hua Hin on horseback, accompanied by four real Black Petes.
Among the parents present were a few from Bangkok, who had come to Hua Hin especially for the Pieten. At the celebration at the embassy in Bangkok, Zwarte Pieten are out of the question, to the disapproval of a large group of parents.
After handing out the presents, it was Rick the Singer's turn from Pattaya. It was then restless for a long time in the Soi in Hua Hin.

Dare to talk about “black Petes”? Just beware of those overcorrect Dutch vinegar pissers who take offense to that. Fortunately, not so much the case in Belgium yet, but who knows that it will turn out the same here...
Indeed, in Belgium I was recently banned on Facebook for some time because I shared a photo of a “black” Piet. Also on the Dutch Bol.com no photos of black shots are allowed anymore. Where are we going?
Tribute to everyone who helped with this beautiful package evening, it was a wonderful party for young and old. Sint Nicolaas and his Zwarte Pieten also thanks for coming to Hua Hin.
Great this party, with real black Pieten!
It was a great evening and thank you to everyone who came. Onto another great evening at Say Cheese
Wonderful Sinterklaas party! Happy children. I have never seen my Thai granddaughter so happy. Later, this 3-year-old granddaughter Emmy danced wonderfully to the pleasant music. Perfectly organized by Day Cheese. You can leave that to them. Fantastic every year. Thank you !
Fortunately, Sinterklaas knows more about Zwarte Piet than the embassy employees. And he brought his real assistants to Hua Hin!
We love Zwarte Piet!
Fine still real black shots, I have NEVER seen this as racist.
It is clear how the average expat in Thailand feels about Sinterklaas and, especially, Zwarte Piet.
Can there also be a dissenting voice from people who have no problem with adapting Zwarte Piet and modernizing the Sinterklaas party? Thank you.
I think it's racist if no black Petes are allowed to participate. Why are these being discriminated against and excluded from the Sinterklaas celebration???
