New Year's countdown festivities continue!
The Ministry of the Interior has reaffirmed and also sent a letter to all provincial governors directing them to inform local public services that there is no policy to cancel New Year's celebrations. The ministry assured that festive events can still take place but organizers are expected to adhere to normal safety requirements.
There had been rumors for a while that all festivities would be scaled down due to the health of the king's eldest daughter. That turns out not to be the case.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has also confirmed that they will continue to organize countdown events across the country. TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn said the festivities organized by his agency will continue as planned to promote domestic tourism in the post-pandemic era.
