Survey on Thai beer brands
We received a question from Tom Uittenboogaard, who is currently working on a graduation thesis for his bachelor's degree in commercial economics. The thesis is about the positioning of the different Thai beer brands in the Benelux and the potential introduction of a new Thai beer brand for the Benelux.
Tom already has a large number of respondents, but needs even more responses for the reliability of his survey. Approximately 90 responses are still needed for a reliability of 70%, while approximately 155 responses would make his survey 95% reliable.

I wanted to participate and started answering the questions in a good mood. The third question was: Do you live in Belgium/the Netherlands or another country. Truthfully, I answered the question with: different country, because I live in Thailand. The survey was immediately terminated and I was thanked for participating. You will therefore only see and answer the questions if you indicate that you live in Belgium or the Netherlands!
My apologies, I did not state clearly in the application that it is a criteria to live in the Netherlands or Belgium. The survey applies to the Benelux and it is therefore important that the respondents live and stay in the Benelux.

I have lived in the Netherlands for 14 years, never quite understand why you would drink Thai beer in the Netherlands or in Belgium. Leo was always a lot fresher, I don't know what happened but it doesn't taste the same. Chang then you have to submit a day off and Singha….too sweet for my taste.

I can imagine at a Thai party, or Thai restaurant in the Netherlands or Belgium, that Thai beer is also for sale, among other types of beer.
But to introduce a new type of Thai beer in the Benelux, where the market is actually full of beer types that have been known for years, I personally find very difficult.
I think it would almost be comparable to the attempt to introduce a Thai wine in the wine countries of Italy and Spain.

Farang is a Thai style tripel. While the addition of galangal (a Thai version of ginger) in this beer stimulates the spiciness, this is nevertheless a very easy to drink beer of 8% abv. Originally designed for a Thai restaurant. This beer travels all over the world because of its unique character.
Completed the survey. I always drink the beer of the country where I am at that moment (except at home, because I prefer Jupiler than Heineken). So beerlao and san miguel light I have drunk in Laos and the Philippines, but never in Thailand. I don't know if there is a taste difference.
I drink Leo in Thailand if possible, but unfortunately not for sale in the Netherlands
