Two cozy coffee shops in the center of Pattaya
I was used to taking a brisk walk in Pattaya on a regular basis in order to meet the much-needed requirements for a good condition. The pattern of that walk was actually to walk to Megabreak via a certain route – I have a choice of about 6 different routes. A drink there, a cigar, a chat and then back home via a different route.
But Megabreak has been closed since April so I needed an alternative for a refreshment. At first only occasionally bought a banana and a health drink at a 7-Eleven, but that got boring, while the desolate sight of Pattaya was also at the expense of the enthusiasm for walking.
About 3 weeks ago there was a story in KhaoSod English by Asaree Thaitrakulpanich about a visit she made to Pattaya and discovered two cozy coffee shops there, which miraculously almost connected to my walking route. I have visited both of them and those visits have again given me a strong incentive to enjoy walking. It concerned the next two coffee shops.”
Malamute Coffee
This coffee shop is located in a side street of Pattaya Klang, right opposite the Memorial Hospital entrance. It is a cozy tent, nicely decorated and an atmosphere of no rush, quiet, and relatively low prices. Asaree commented that she would like to see more of this kind of business in her hometown of Bangkok.
Jasmin's Cafe
This business is located close to Beach Road on Pattaya Klang (Central Road) opposite Krung Thai Bank. The menu is a bit more extensive than in Malamute, so you can also have a very good lunch there. Asaree thought it was an oasis that makes you forget your depression from many closed establishments and the empty baht vans.

Bert Gringhuis (1945), born and raised in Almelo in the beautiful Twente. Later lived for many years in Amsterdam and Alkmaar, working in export for various companies. I first came to Thailand in 1980 and immediately fell in love with the country. Been back many times since then and moved to Thailand after my (early) retirement as a widower. I have been living there for 22 years now with my somewhat younger Thai lady Poopae.
My first experiences in Thailand as a kind of newsletter sent to family, friends and acquaintances, which later appeared under the name Gringo on Thailandblog. Many, many articles followed those first stories and that has grown into an almost daily hobby.
In the Netherlands still an avid footballer and football referee, but the years are starting to tell and in Thailand still avid, but the pool billiards is really of inferior quality, ha ha!

Nice story about the coffee shops, this appeals to me as a lover of this kind of business and I try to visit them everywhere I go in Thailand. It is precisely the atmosphere in your own business and the associated personal design and often also the view that makes it pleasant to drink coffee and eat something and to spend the time in such a pleasant way. A close acquaintance owns a coffee shop in Bangkok with mouth-watering homemade cakes which has made her widely known in Bangkok and lifestyle magazines. Also in my city Korat several coffee places that I like to visit. Please read about it to get inspiration for a visit.
I would go to the Buma cafe. Or "owl café" also called, delicious coffee, ice cream and profiteroles assortment. Wonderfully quiet and real owls to admire too. Is not located in the center of Pattaya, but nice on the outskirts of the city at Jomtien
Don't forget Benjamit (closed on Saturdays). Pattaya Tai to Friendship into the market. Something right. Perfect self-purchased and self-roasted coffee, so your own taste. The coffee is also for sale in packs. This coffee is also used at Gafeo right next to ThukCom, but they don't bake anything from it, there is air conditioning, Benjamit does not. And in ThukCom a Cafe Amazon. Small clumsy business, but Cafe Amazone manages to deliver the same quality everywhere. Here and there in Bangkok, Jomtien, highway petrol stations, UdonThani airport, even in Vientiane it works. Very different from 1985, cooking coffee that simmered for hours in a hanging glass ball. Bahhhhhhh
I can't agree that the amazon coffee serves the same coffee everywhere..
They have a leaflet on how to make cappuccino, for example.
However, in a number of cases they make it more like a café latte.
This one quickly goes back and explained what a cappuccino is.
After 3 times and clear explanation it will work.
Comments like this is amazon cappuccino etc are irrelevant.
The amazon coffee where we regularly come, and there are quite a lot of them now know how I drink the cappuccino.
New staff arrives who think they know it, but are neatly explained by colleagues how to do it.
Thailand and coffee………. The above makes me long for my favorite coffee spot in Chiang Rai, but I'll have to wait a little longer, alas!
