Reporter: RonnyLatYa

Ask the readers who were successful in their online application.

Applying for a visa online has only just started and there are many questions, but there is still little experience with it. That is why we ask readers who have already successfully completed their application to share their experiences with the reader. Preferably in a separate email that you can send to https://www.thailandblog.nl/contact/.

I'll turn it into a TB Immigration Info Brief. This is then easier for the reader to find than reactions in the middle of all other reactions, in other words do not post your experience here, but in a separate e-mail to the editors. With enough submissions, we might be able to make a list of problems and how to fix them, but we'll see.

The more successful experiences/reactions the better.

You can put everything in it that you think is important for the reader to successfully complete the application, including problems you encountered and how solved, type of visa and requirements, possibly which browser, uploading the requested information, etc, in other words any information that may interest the reader.

I myself can only offer limited help at the moment and limit it to what I think or suspect. So I have no experience with this.

Thanks in advance to those who want to respond to this.

On the website of the Thai Embassy, they have also started with a link where common errors are treated. Currently this is only limited, but I hope they will expand that over time.

Common Mistakes – สถานเอกอัครราชทูตณกรุงเฮก (thaiembassy.org)

Take this one out anyway.

supporting documents

-submit supporting documents NOT as requested or indicated in the application BUT at your own satisfaction.

Perhaps not immediately clear, but you should read this as an error made by the applicant and it means that documents are uploaded not as requested or indicated, but what the applicant himself thinks should be sufficient.

-submit financial evidence showing unreasonable balance for a person to stay abroad. The recommended minimum amount should be around 1,000 EUR/30 days of stay in Thailand.

This one is interesting because a question that comes up quite often because “adequate finances” as it has been described in the past is vague. Now people write Financial evidence eg bank statement, proof of earnings, sponsorship letter” but you don't know much with that yet.

In this “Commen Mistakes” the veil is finally lifted of what that should be. The mistake the applicant is making here is proving amounts that are unreasonable for them to stay abroad during that period. Of course they cause that themselves if you don't mention numbers.

In any case, it is now said that at least 1000 euros per month is acceptable. 2 months is at least 2000 Baht, 3 months at least 3000 Baht. At least it's clear on that now.

Other mistakes that are made can be viewed through the link Common Mistakes – สถานเอกอัครราชทูตณกรุงเฮก (thaiembassy.org) to click.

Note: “Reactions are very welcome on the subject, but limit yourself here to the subject of this “TB Immigration Infobrief. If you have other questions, if you would like to see a topic covered, or if you have information for the readers, you can always send it to the editors. Use only for this www.thailandblog.nl/contact/. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation”.

    Dear RonnyLatYa,
    Many thanks for your articles.
    However, today I noticed this sentence;

In any case, it is now said that at least 1000 euros per month is acceptable. 2 months is at least 2000 Baht, 3 months at least 3000 Baht. At least it's clear on that now.

First you say 1000 euros per month, and then change to thb per month. Assume that it must also be euros.

    Kind regards from gray NL.

“-submit financial evidence showing unreasonable balance for a person to stay abroad. The recommended minimum amount should be around 1,000 EUR/30 days of stay in Thailand.”
Question: Which document to use as financial evidence? Bank statement? Otherwise ?

What to do with this requirement:

“Picture of applicant holding the photo and info page of the applicant's passport.”

Anyone experience with this? Is a selfie photo accepted?
I don't see any other option than a selfie photo.

You have to hold the info page with your passport photo near your face or in front of you, I assume a selfie with the requested passport photo and info page of passport is fine as long as they have it
