Reporter: RonnyLatYa

There is a new “TM30 – Notification of residence for foreigners” site where address managers can register their guests/tenants online.

NOTIFICATION OF RESIDENCE FOR FOREIGNERS (immigration.go.th)

I have no experience with it myself, but what I hear/read is:

  • You must first register again, even if you were already registered on the previous site.
  • You will now receive proof of registration of your guests/tenants at your email address.

For some it might be a solution and save them a long journey to immigration.

I don't have any experience with it myself (yet), but if there are any readers who already have experience with this new site, please let me know.

When registering, an upload copy of the blue house book (tabain bahn) and a copy of the homeowner's ID card are required. After the approval email, the address of the house must be added via the profile at the top right. After this, a TM 30 report can be made.

There is now also room for foreign address managers
can make a TM30 report for their guests/tenants.
When registering, first click on “foreigner” and the ID card will then change to passport number.

        Dear Ronnie,

If my wife filed the TM 30 report last year, is just registering on the new website sufficient? So don't report it again, right?

Your TM30 remains valid, at least if you are still in Thailand.
Some immigration offices do not expect you to make a new report if you re-enter and return to the same address.
But you should check that room to see what the rules are there and when they expect a notification from you.

But just because there is a new site where reports can be made does not mean that previous TM30 reports automatically expire. I think it would be something.
And in addition to online reports, you can also make your report at the immigration office or, in some cases, by post. It does not matter how the TM30 notification is made.

In any case, your wife can always register if you want. At least if she is responsible for the address. If you need a new TM30 in the future, you can also report this via that site. You don't have to go to the immigration office.
But she can only do that when necessary. Doesn't have to happen now of course...

Has it completely changed? What I understood is that the TM 30 were for Thai reports and a TM 28 for foreigners to report themselves. Never had to deal with it (TM 28) because wife does TM 30.
Has TM28 now been canceled and integrated into the TM 30 with Thai or farang as selection?

TM30 is still used for what it is intended, i.e. reporting the arrival at an address of a foreigner. This must be done by the address responsible for that address and it does not matter whether that address responsible is a Thai or a foreigner.

The TM28 also still exists and is when you change your permanent address as a non-immigrant. And yes, when you move, you must declare this to immigration yourself. This can be done with form TM28. Although many immigration offices will also be satisfied with a TM30.

Until a few years ago, the TM28 form was also used if you were a foreigner temporarily staying in another province for longer than 24 hours. But that is no longer necessary. Finally, you have already been reported with a TM30 by the person responsible for that address.
