TB Immigration Info Letter No 021/23: Immigration Petchaburi – Year Extension Retirement
Reporter: Klaas
Extension based on Retirement in Petchaburi. Today, for a visa extension based on Retirement, we went to the immigration in Cha-Am.
First to the bank for the letter and the overview of the past year (already requested last week, because they can only give 6 months on site). Already in the bank at 08:30 there were 3 more people, who came for the same thing. So as quickly as possible to the new immigration office (Khao Yai, Petchaburi), hand in all papers there and take a number (no. 2).
When opening the bank, a gentleman let me go, who was now number 4 here. More and more people came in, no one knew exactly where to report, where to connect, a confusing rumble, from one counter to the other, hoping that everything would work out. Ultimately not difficult, but very messy.
Was outside at 11 am with the coveted stamp for a year.
I do it with THB 800.000 in the bank. Papers needed:
- Form TM7
- Letter from bank with credit (min THB 800000)
- Overview bank account last year
- Copy bank book
- Copy of passport with all previous renewals
- Tabien Baan (Yellow booklet)
- Own signed ticket to home.
Not difficult, but patience is a virtue and make sure you get there early.

I also have the impression that things have become a bit smoother.
My Bangkok bank doesn't open until 11 am (in a shopping mall) and I make sure I'm number 1 in line.
With the moving (15 min by car) at half past 2 the new visa in my passport. This is in Ubon Ratchathani and I was amazed that it was arranged so quickly. I remember well that in the past this took at least a whole day and sometimes you had to come back the next day to collect the passport ... times have apparently changed.
