Report: Fred
Subject: Immigration Jomtien – Pattaya

TM30 note to Immigration Jomtien-Pattaya. After returning from Belgium on November 12, I went to immigration Jomtien for TM24 within 30 hours of arriving at my place of residence. There I was told that when I returned from abroad I should not report with TM30 that I was back next time.

A friendly lady in uniform who treated me explained to me that I only had to report for a new application for an extension of a non-immigrant O visa on the basis of retirement, or after 90 days of residence in the country. However, I have not read anywhere about the abolition of TM30. Can I trust this and not report myself next time?

Reaction RonnyLatYa

Nothing has been canceled either. It's just how they apply the TM30 rules locally in Pattaya-Jomtien. By the way, I thought this had been applicable for a long time in Jomtien-Pattaya for those with a “Retirement extension”. At least there have been comments about that in the past I think I remember.

And if you do not trust it, then next time you make that TM30 report again and then you will see whether they say it again or not. At least that's how I would handle it in that case.

That was the case in May 2018 when I returned from a visit to Belgium, but only if at the same address as before as Ret ext. holder, I was also told that TM30 is needed when renewing Ret Ext.

And yet again in August 2018 no questions were asked and my ret. ext. simply handled with copy & original lease contract 1 year and the other necessary doc. This at immigration Jomtien/Pattaya.

So it is always best to take a closer look locally at IO, as RonnyLatYa recommends, and hear where the wind is blowing.

Have retirement visa and also went to jomtien immigration on the first day but have a condo in my name and they also said if I don't change address, that I shouldn't report that and don't have to fill in a TM30 form. This only needs to be done when the address changes.

When I went to Jomtien, we asked three people and got different answers three times. From yes definitely do to not necessary and better yes.
These were people who work barely a few meters apart.
In any case, we always go because we had to pay a 1 Baht fine for nothing and I don't feel like it anymore.

What are you concerned about? I also have to go to the office in Jomtien. I've lived there for 15 years now and regularly fly to Belgium (as I call it nowadays with all those Muslims there). I have never held a TM30 form in my hands. In my opinion, all scaremongering of this blog. The municipality of Nongpru knows where I live and they have to make do with that.

Take it easy, Dieter! “They have to deal with it”. Until, of course, you suddenly meet another official. And if he feels like checking whether you have a TM 30 form, then I think he doesn't care much about your "powerful statement". Hopefully that won't happen just when you come one day before your annual extension.

In Thailand, immigration rules for foreigners are leading and therefore more important than the rules of the local municipality. From Nongprue to Jomtien is only a short distance and it does not take much effort to comply with the rules and can save the necessary baht if there are checks and things have been left out. My advice is to just participate and respect the rules, then there will be no problems. After all, it's not just about you. In case of bad or wrong behavior, this also spreads to others.

The Immigration Office in Tha Yang also considers it unnecessary to report me with TM 30 after returning home

A few months ago, arrived from NL, the next day to Jomtien Immigration.
Spoken to 3 ladies regarding information request, then TM 30 request, finally TM30 report.

Lady 1 at the counter at the front door indicates: TM 30 report always necessary.
5 minutes later: lady 2 at counter in TM30 department itself: TM30 report not necessary due to Non Imm. OA visa (retirement).
1 hour later: lady 3 in the same TM30 department, sitting next to lady 2: it is better to report TM30 just to be on the safe side, but only if you have arrived in Thailand from abroad.

I'll keep it to the last. And do the TM30 report digitally within 24 hours after arrival in Thailand.

I came in September with a re-entry after a stay of 6 months in Holland. I was sent to Udon Thani immigration with the message "we know where you live, don't we?" Report in 90 days. Also during the extension of the non O in October, there was no comment on the TM 30, which is already 2 years old.

Hello, I have also lived in Udon for over 10 years.
And in those 10 years I have been back to the Netherlands 4 times, 1x to Malaysia, 1x to Vietnam and 1x to Bali and have never filled out a TM 30 form, let alone been to Immigration.
And very many times a year on holiday somewhere else in Thailand also no report from me at Immigration with TM 30 form.
And every time I do my 90 day report I don't hear anything about it and I'm outside again 5 minutes later.
Immigration Udon is quite easy and friendly with everything in my view.
I have never had any problems with Visa, 90 days etc etc

    Good afternoon,
Have been to Ban Soem, North East Isaan, a few times now and each time I have reported to the local police station and submitted the TM30 form there.
This was viewed with wide eyes, pushed aside and a form was drawn up by the local police themselves, in Thai.
My girlfriend and I signed this and that was the job for them. The document contains my name, address of my stay and how long I expect to stay. In a week my girlfriend and I will go to the Netherlands for 3 months and then back to Isaan. Will go the same way again.
Next trip I want to apply for a Non Immigrant visa so that I can extend it for a year without too much fuss. Used twice so far with a Visa on arrival and a METV, the latter already used twice and extended with a bordrrrun in Nong Khai.
Curious how that will go then, but then we will be another year further and then we will see……?.

Asked the lady at the re-entry-permit desk in Jomtien 2 weeks ago: “if you return to the same address, you don't have to fill in a TM30 form”.

I arrived in Chiang Mai on November 6 and went to immigration within 24 hours to fill in the TM 30 form and the rest (I had to pay 1 bath once for not reporting) the ladies typed something into the computer and I asked for the red stamp, she said it was no longer necessary and she was allowed to take everything back with me (I did keep everything because in Thailand you never know if it is good)
