Subject: Immigration Khon Kaen

Today I went to immigration in Khon Kaen to check that there is still 800.000 baht in my account. Presentation of passport and copy of first page and copy of visa stamp, bank book with today's update + copy of first and last updated page.

There was a huge amount of people. The first officer was free and spoke to us. My wife replied for check bank amount check after 3 months, the officer replied you shouldn't do this now, do this together with the 90 day notification. I thought I was going through the ground, clear and plain in my passport was a red receipt stapled with a written check 800.000 baht on the bill, report 27 October. But this was a Sunday yesterday. My next 90 day report isn't until December 11th.

I waited a while, the officer who had helped me further last time at renewal year extension was still busy for a while. When she had done that she beckoned me. I handed her my bank book + copies and my passport, she looked in it, took out the pink receipt and that was it.

So you see, the same office and yet different rules, why not the same everywhere.

Reaction RonnyLatYa

Well, it has been a source of annoyance for applicants several times that, even within the same immigration office, there is no uniformity. Unfortunately, Khon Kaen is certainly not an isolated case.

I was there few days ago for my year extension in Khorat
and they didn't say that I was at the 90 day notification
also have to bring my bank book.
Also after the TM 30 no one asked , fortunately ,
because I don't have one either.

I also visited Korat for my year renewal last week and also asked them about the check after 90 days but they said it is not applicable in Korat but they will check next year on renewal.
I have a TM 30 by reporting my return from Belgium 2 months ago, only if you return from abroad do you have to register within 24 hours.
To be on the safe side, it is best to bring your bank book for the first 90 days.

There are more immigration offices that have decided to check it at the next annual renewal.
And somewhere that is also the most practical solution, I personally think.

But I also want to warn everyone.
Make sure that you are aware of how a check in your immigration office takes place and especially when.
So don't be too quick to assume that because they didn't ask anything, nothing will be checked afterwards. Otherwise it might be possible to settle if they ask at the next annual renewal why you were below a certain amount.
So make sure you inquire well at your immigration office.

        And nothing about health insurance?

      Chris,

Don't you have an annual extension based on “Thai Marriage”? In that case there is no control. You may gain anything after your extension has been granted. Just make sure it's back up in time for the next extension.

Just got back from my 90d report at the Chumphon Immigration Office. This was my first 90d report after re-acquiring an annual renewal based on Retirement and with bank balance of 800.000THB. When I received my annual extension, I asked if I had to show the bank book again on my next 90d report. The answer was NO, we check at the next annual renewal. So went today, nothing shown (had it with me to be sure) and nothing was asked. Not everywhere, but apparently in many places.

Rayong same, check at the next year renewal.
However, a printout of the entire year of changes and balances is required, there can be a check for 3 months after an extension of 800, then 400, then 2 months before a new annual extension of 800 in the bank (3 months are often required).
The bank cannot also print the transactions of that day on the day of your next annual renewal, because there could be another transaction on the day of your annual renewal. Immigration has said this is not a safe deposit, at least not with people who leave the 800 in the bank account all year. Moreover, on your Balance Statement and your bank book you can see how the balance progress was until the last day.

Did my extension in Jomtien. I used the combi method. I was told absolutely nothing about what I still have to leave in my bank account.

Which I find strange… for your extension you should in principle not show your bank book or make copies of the last 3 months.

If you're not okay with what the regulations are next year, they'll tell you
