Concerning Immigration Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat)
Went to immigration Nakhonratchasima (Korat) yesterday to extend a year visa present at 13,45 pm well after lunch as it sometimes runs out for the ladies and gentlemen. At 14.00 pm we were helped by an immigration volunteer. All forms were put in a row and then read again up to 5 times and the letter from the embassy was also recalculated up to 5 times whether I meet the requirements, which I amply meet.
Then got a number and the waiting could begin. To my surprise, it was our turn after 5 minutes (turned out that the immigration officer had brought us forward because she recognized me from last year, I walk with a walker because I have a torn vertebrae that no longer heals, despite 2 previous operations).
The officer also got to work with the forms and her papers were also turned over and viewed up to 5 times, as well as the embassy document was recalculated up to 5 times. 2 x photo taken also 2 passport photos submitted. Everything was approved and we could go after paying 1900 baht. Normally I always request a single and a multiple, but the lady thought that was a waste of money, as I normally only leave Thailand once a year. I request the multiple just in case………..
The lady told me that I could also suffice with a notification the day before departure at the immigration office or at Suvarnabhumi at the immigration there, that visa costs 1000 baht. So if I use that option at all, it would save me at least 2800 baht in my wallet. If I do not leave in the meantime, that will save me 3800 baht.
Grateful for the lady's suggestion offered her 500 baht for the service, she was very nice about this but was firmly rejected by her, she was only doing her job. Look, that's how it can be, as far as I'm concerned a counterpart to the misery you often read about immigration here. We were out again at 15.00:XNUMX PM. So it turns out that if you have all the papers in order, you really don't have to wait that long.

If you do not leave Thailand at least 3 times during your annual extension, a Multiple Re-entry also makes little sense, of course. But you can also request a Single Re-entry immediately. It remains valid until you use it or until the end of your annual renewal. And otherwise there is still the airport of course.
But if you think that everything is going well, that's great. And that should certainly be reported.
