According to CCSA spokesperson Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) decided at the general meeting on Friday, August 19, to temporarily increase the Visa Exemption from 30 to 45 days.
This would apply between October 1, 22 and March 31, 2023.
This would mean that, among others, Dutch and Belgians will not receive 30 but 45 days of residence upon entry on Visa Exemption.
The article does not mention extending those 45 days and will then normally remain at 30 days.
This also applies to Visa-on-Arrival (15 to 30 days), but since this does not apply to Dutch/Belgians, this is less important
Hopefully they will also inform the airlines / check-in so that they can also stop with that 30-day nonsense (ticket that you intend to leave Thailand within 30 days) and hopefully after March 31.
Note: “Reactions are very welcome on the subject, but limit yourself here to the subject of this “TB Immigration Infobrief. If you have other questions, if you would like to see a topic covered, or if you have information for the readers, you can always send it to the editors. Good news for those (like us) traveling back and forth between Thailand and neighboring countries for a few months.
However, I wonder: do you also get a 45-day visa excemption when entering overland? Or only when flying in?
Remember that in the past there was a period, overland 15 days, flying in 30 days.
There is normally no longer any distinction between entry by land, sea or air.
15 days by land has changed since January 1, 2017. It has been replaced by a restriction of twice per calendar year for arrivals by land.
This good news is a temporary measure.
From April 1, 23, it is normally back 30 days. Keep in mind.
Would be great for me, our holiday is planned from mid-November to …
My wife's Thai origins (now Dutch + NL Passport) have been married for 12 years and have not been due to corona, etc. and are also very curious about how our house is doing.
We're really looking forward to it
Gr. and good luck to all other travelers

This is a recent CCSA decision (August 19)
As such, I was unaware when answering readers' questions about Visa Exemption.
It therefore goes without saying that when I wrote somewhere 30 days and when you enter Thailand between October 1 and March 31, you should read 45 days instead of 30 days
I hope this is true of those 45 days not that if you arrive in Thailand without a visa you are going to have a problem
Even then you still have those 30 days...
And no one is stopping you from taking a visa…..
Everything is always possible to rake in extra tourist money. I'm fine with it, but why not always broaden the rules if you can, unless…
That would be great!
On arrival 45 days then a border run and again 45 days
So a total of 3 months.
No hassle with paperwork for the embassy in The Hague
I first want to make sure from someone about that border run whether you really get 45 days.
We will see..
Send an email to [email protected]
Greetings Rob
Hope the airlines are also aware of the change.
According to the latest reports, it is now official that the extension from 30 to 45 days has started.
But now I don't know if that also applies over land.
If anyone knows for sure please update
Fr gr Rob
It is not clear to me whether there is an official Thai government message stating the Visa Exempt extension from 30 to 45 days, and which also formally confirms whether the extension in Thailand is 30 or 45 days?
The website of the Thai Embassy in The Hague still mentions 30 days ??
Ls
If you enter after October 1, you will receive a stamp for 45 days, but if you extend it at the immigration service, you will also receive an extension for 45 days?? A 1900 Bath
Then no border run is needed !!
Does anyone know a good answer to that.
The embassy in The Hague is on vacation!!!!
I'd like to hear from someone.
Gr Rob
Does anyone know a good answer to that. If you still don't know that Ronny is the visa expert, sleep on.
