If humans hadn't pushed ahead with the advice on procreation, would we now have far too many people on earth?

A very long time ago the world was still new and not a single living being knows anything about reproduction. Yes, they know it's important but have no idea when to do it. And after lengthy discussions, they decide that each species will send a delegation to God to ask when they can reproduce.

The dog arrives first at god, then the cow, the water buffalo, other animals and also man comes to the door. They all neatly line up and wait their turn to speak to God.

'You may reproduce on…'

God tells the dog to procreate on the ninth or tenth day of the month. Then he tells the cow and the water buffalo that they may reproduce on the fifth or sixth day of the month. But before god can talk to the serpent and lizard, man squeezes forward along the line. He asks when man may reproduce….

God is astounded at this brutality and asks why man is pushing ahead? 'I'm a busy man and I really don't have time to stand in line with all these stupid animals here. I just want to know when humans are allowed to reproduce.' God holds back and says 'You are always busy, busy, busy! But maybe…….'.

Excuse me ? The man is already gone. He does not wait for the advice and tells anyone who will listen that god says that man can reproduce at any time ...

Well, and this is how it came…

Overcrowding is a major problem today. In particular, the distribution of people across the globe. Before the Second World War, it was almost a necessity in Western society to start a large family. The subsequent prosperity and further developed social services have largely removed that necessity. There are even countries that are hindered by too little population growth. Japan is a good example of this, but Thailand is also seeing its growth shrink to a much lesser extent, so there will probably be more countries where this is the case.
Conversely, there are areas on earth where people can hardly feed the population, provide good education, etc. The result is unstable governance, migration and refugees, stagnant growth and stagnation and decline.
Equitable distribution of wealth and economic opportunities, exhaustion of what the planet can give us as well as climate disruption are responsible for the division of humanity and growth.
Conclusion a large and complex problem and a challenge for all of us in the 21st century.

All misery and misery begins and ends with overpopulation. Philosopher professor Etienne Vermeersch saw it as THE biggest cause of all problems. However, he was always annoyed that when he wanted to elaborate on this, few people were willing to listen.
As long as children are a gift from God, you can imagine not much will change.
We should be with a maximum of 1 billion people.
