New in Pattaya: Mimosa Mall (Video)
Pattaya has something new again and by this I don't mean the under construction center of entertainment on Thepprasit Road. I mean a new mall right opposite Ambassador Hotel on Sukhumvit Road.
It is curiously called Mimosa. A colorful whole with lots of colorful houses and lots of greenery. The entire construction is based on, say, Austrian half-timbering. There is a multitude of restaurants, European and Thai, there are coffee bars and of course all kinds of shops. Not just souvenir shops like at the Floating market further on. Really a mall.
A solution for the guests of the Ambassador hotel, because they now have no reason to go to Pattaya. But also for Thais who imagine themselves in a European capital. And of course for us. I was there in the morning, but I hear from various people that it is especially pleasant in the evening. So highly recommended.
Stately swans swim in the beautifully landscaped water features. An open-air theater is being built at the rear of the site, so that everyone will find something to their liking here.
When I leave the site again, my eye falls on a large billboard. This mall is not only called Mimosa, I already knew that, but is also billed as 'The city of love'. Perhaps I am very naive, but I have not noticed any injustice that you would expect with such an announcement. Or it must be a massage parlor, but it looked open and innocent. A nice billboard.

Of course it has nothing to do with pattaya. It is said in Thai Tambol
After Jomtien. Pattaya is about 10 Km from there. A new center is emerging there because many people from Russia who are here on holiday stay in hotels in that area. It all looks nice, just a pity that nothing has been done about the infrastructure in that area. Almost no parking.
The cars are simply parked on the left half of the very busy Sukhumvit Road. People from the hotels who have to cross do so at the risk of their lives. After many accidents, for example, there is still no traffic light.
I say that I have no criticism of what people put there for beauty, but just like the so-called Floating market 2 km ahead, where busloads of people come. That is all parked in the left lane and often double
also.
I'm not going to tell you what happens when those buses leave again and with the U turn again
have to turn towards Bangkok.

The owner of the Mimosa complex has made many (business) trips to Germany.
Out of love (Mimosa) for that country, she had a copy of a small German village built.
In the evening (19.00 ) spouting water fountain in colors to music (water organ).
Then a few more performances in the vein of Alcazar. (free)
Before the Mimosa complex, turn left for parking and there will be a few large parking
terrains. At busy times people are helped by the traffic police
to cross.
Sincerely,
Lodewijk
