Changes in and around Pattaya
There are a number of changes taking place in and around Pattaya – Jomtien. Many are familiar with Collingbourne's auction house at 2 Chayapruek. A wide variety of goods went under the hammer there every week. Semi antiques, jewelry, paintings, many household products and furniture. Later although limited motorbikes and cars and occasionally condos. It was also possible to eat and drink something in a modest catering area.
Anyone who wanted to take another look there from 22 June was faced with a closed door. The company has moved to Sukhumvit Road towards Sri Racha. One passes the Bangkok Hospital, the mosque, the Banglamung police station. The new building has been set up on the left side of Sukhumvit Road. In the vicinity of the Isuzu car company located across the street. Just passing by as in the past is no longer an option for me, given the distance.
A second intervention took place at the Night Market on Jomtien Beach. The entire left part has been razed to the ground, where cozy seats were made by catering people. The actual market on the right still exists. But the feeling of an amputated body part does arise. The market does have many products as elsewhere, but the price is rather on the high side. I could not discover what destination this vacated plain will receive.
On the back road to Wat Jangnawarat is the Hydropponics Bio Farm. A company that sells organically grown vegetables. This is now for sale. The “Hollandse Resort” to which a post was devoted at the time has also been demolished to the ground and the land is being put up for sale again. Often the financial picture is the cause of closing, sometimes false contracts, even by the government! In this time with exchange rate fluctuations and fewer tourists, one must have a large buffer of money or stop in time!
For example, a large beautiful condo building under construction between Thepprasit Road and Sukhumvit is still waiting for completion. After 4 years there is still no progress. Neither does the Waterfront Building on Bali Haipier, which, despite Prayut's tough statement and the involvement of the Magna Carta Law firm (large law firm), does not show any change.
This week it was announced (Pattaya Mail) that an 8-storey hotel in Naklua near the Plukplub Canal, which was built illegally, must be demolished, as well as the “Shoreline Building” behind the Chonglom Temple.

When you talk about "Condo buildings under construction" don't forget Savana Sands (started up in 2012) on Soi Boon Kanchana, which has been under construction for 6 years, nothing has changed in the last 5 years, and which has now been bought by Universal and has been named Seven Seas the Carnival. Sometimes up to 10 people work there :-) ... despite promotional texts, it will probably not be delivered (if ever) before 2025 .... you will only have bought a condo 8 years ago for a 20% down payment.
