Activities in and around Pattaya in November
November will be an interesting month with several great activities. Plans and dates are generally known, but may be adjusted for organizational reasons.
The Bali Hai pier will be closed for an international naval review. The date has now been set to November 19 – 20. This is the latest that the city council has communicated to the operators of the boat and pier companies. During that period they cannot use the facilities of the Bali Hai pier. This is necessary to accommodate the parade of naval ships and the presence of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.
The following schedule is planned for the city. An area is closed off for security reasons. The Pattaya Thai (Pattaya south) will be closed at the level of the Second Road, which will also be closed. At the end at the Pattaya Klang (Pattaya Central) it is not possible to turn left, because this part is also closed. It is clear that the Pattaya Beach also falls under this. This will take effect at 19 p.m. on November 6.
The next day, November 20, the main demonstrations of the Navy will take place such as weapons demonstrations, rescues and the like. The total fleet event falls between November 13 and 22. Initially, 50 naval vessels are expected.
Air Race World Cup
The second big happening, which has already been described in a posting, is about the international flying competitions at the nearby airport.
Thailand will become the first country in the history of the Asia-Pacific region to host an Air Race World Cup at U-Tapao Airport. These competitions will take place on November 17-19, 2017 under the auspices of the Sports Authority of Thailand as part of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
It is to be hoped that things do not (literally) get in each other's wheels. Enormous traffic congestion to be expected due to two almost overlapping major events. It could possibly lead to a shift of data. “Planning” is not the greatest achievement of some Thai governments.

Does anyone know if the International Fireworks Festival will be held in Pattaya again this year?
Last year it was canceled for known reasons, this year it was supposed to take place on November 17 and 18 according to the agenda on the Hardrock Hotel site, but the event has since been removed from that site, and I can only do it now find here:

Hikes
Thanks for the info.
I am also going to pattaya in November
Can anyone tell me if there is an international fireworks festival in November this year?
and if so which dates.
Was there two years ago and well worth it.
Best regards

@Lodewijk:
What about Loy Kratung and the fireworks? Isn't that also in Pattaya in November? Can you also report something about that? Thank you in advance.
Unfortunately I can't say much about that.
In the past, the municipality has decided to set other priorities and
postpone the fireworks for the time being to save money. Also the annual music spectacle
with bands ed goes in the fridge for now.
This is the current state of affairs.
Tomorrow it can be changed again, so to speak.
Loy Kratung will probably continue, because it does not specifically concern Pattaya, but everywhere
can take place locally.
Oops , I normally planned to take the ferry from Hua Hin to Pattaya on Sunday , November 19 ! So, according to this information, it won't work?
There is certainly nothing mentioned on the website of the ferry and you can simply order tickets online. Does anyone know anything about that? Will they moor somewhere else or would the ferry simply not sail?
Thanks in advance for responses.
Regards ,
Erik
