A mini-marathon will take place on June 29 in the coastal province of Chumphon. Also known as the ''Annual Run through the Sea to Pithak Island, 10th Lang Suan Mini Marathon'', the marathon is the only marathon in the world where part of the course runs through the sea.

The marathon is 14 km long, the last kilometer participants have to cover through the 30 cm deep sea, with the finish on the island of Pithak. The trail starts near the Chakri Naruebet Ship Model in Paknam Lang Suan and continues along the coast to the Pithak terminus.

There is also a shorter marathon, called ''Run Fun Run'', which is only 3.5 km long, but also ends in the sea. Runners from all over the world are welcome to run this unique course.
