When you enter Bangkok you should definitely make the effort to see the show Siam Niramit to go see. I'll explain why.

Siam Niramit is a huge theater with 2.000 seats. The construction required an investment of 40 million dollars at the time.

The performance is really beautiful. The audience is taken on a journey through the history of Thailand. You get to see a show of unprecedented magnitude. Spectacular and grand. A performance of absolute world class!

Siam Niramit: largest stage in the world

That is also allowed given the huge stage that even has a Guinness World Records mention. With a width of 65 meters, a depth of 40 meters and a height of 12 meters, it is the largest indoor stage in the world. Thai art and cultural heritage are portrayed by 150 artists dressed in 500 costumes.

Music, light and tightly directed choreography provide a beautifully depicted journey through ancient Siam. It begins in the North in the ancient kingdom of Lanna. The Isan and the heritage of the Khmer civilization are also depicted.

The second act shows aspects of Buddhism and the religious principle of belief in Karma. The good or bad deeds in this world result in merit or suffering in the next life. The three worlds: Hell, the Himaphan forest and heaven are depicted. Siam Niramit's third act is dedicated to the depiction of Thai festivals such as Songkran and Loy Krathong.

Historic Thai houses

Outside you can visit a beautiful garden, in which a Thai village has been recreated. You can admire a number of historical Thai houses and old crafts. You can also take a picture with an elephant (if you want).

Another tip. You can order tickets including dinner. It is a buffet, but the quality seems to be mediocre.

I've seen it twice already and twice it brought tears to my eyes. It is useful if you know a little bit about the history of Thailand. The background of the wars against Burma, the arrival of the Chinese, the meaning of the various festivals ... it all passes you by if you don't know anything about it (it's still very nice to look at).
In every travel guide there is a good basis to know which aspect is shown in the show and that makes it that little bit more fun… like the rocket festival or loy khratong…
It remains recommended. . . I really think it's a pity that it is so expensive for Thai. . . few can go and see this.

I will go back again someday…

I went here in May 2009 and January 2010, definitely recommended.
only that Thai counterfeit village I have not seen.

i believe this is the same owner of Singha Bier.

Definitely recommended, been there already 3 times in the last 7 years. My Thai in-laws who came along the last time loved it too!

A wonderful show indeed. Even a river on stage and tropical rains.
We will definitely go back again.

Beautiful show! My partner had tears in her eyes. I sometimes had goosebumps. It's a shame that you have to hand in everything to prevent film-photo recordings. Wonderfully directed from start to finish. Even the pre-show outside was a delight. Tour with the chang was a hilarity.

Totally agree, a great show. When I get visitors from the Netherlands, we always go there. But don't forget Fantasea in Phuket either.

Address: 19 Tiamruammit Road, Huaykwang, Bangkok,
Is that close to a metro/skytrain stop, if so which one?

A few years ago (2008) I went to Fantasea in Phuket, which is a similar show, this one was also fantastic! From what I've read about the show in Bangkok, there isn't much difference in the shows. Even the dinner afterwards was mediocre there too! But both shows are more than worth it! In Phuket, a very fine mist was sprayed into the room, which brought the temperature to a pleasant level! If you're near either show, GO!

It is indeed a very impressive show, I was there in 2007. Also because the elephants (with guide) walk through the stands between the audience towards the end of the show. Definitely visit if you have the opportunity!

Siam Niramit can now also be admired on Phuket. Fantastic show and an excellent buffet. Highly recommended.

The show is very good and recommended I have been there 2 times.
You should not take the buffet, we got sick both times.
The tip not to sit in front is correct.
    Have fun for the rest.

    Wonderful show, definitely do it!

We have already been there 3 times. 1 time even my husband was invited on stage.
However, the last time we found it very messy, as new people kept coming in during the show and others left the room early.
What is a big minus if you go by taxi is that it becomes very difficult to get transport back. And of course the taxis refused to use the meter

Been there a few times already. Beautiful indeed. You can also book directly online.

Last year a minivan drove from BTS station to Niramit and afterwards back to the station. This service was free.
