The Chatuchak market is open again (video)
Shoppers and traders are once again active at the world-famous Chatuchak Weekend Market. The market has reopened provided health instructions are followed to prevent the spread of Covid-19. You can see what the one and a half meter society in Thailand looks like in this video.
Chatuchak or Jatujak (Thai: จตุจักร, English: Weekend Market) is also called the JJ market. The market is very popular with tourists and foreigners, but also with the Thai themselves. At weekends, the market attracts 200.000 visitors per day (Saturday and Sunday), 30% of whom are foreigners.
It will take some getting used to for traders and the public to keep enough distance.

Good news for traders.
But in my opinion they are not there yet. Many people no longer have any income, so it remains to be seen whether there will be enough customers. And those who do still work, have an essential profession and will have little time to browse around quietly. That's my idea about it
I expect the Thai version of “look, look and don't buy”…
I wonder how on earth you can keep enough distance there ... the stalls inside are less than 1,5 meters apart, and then you still have to wriggle between them ... good luck to the sellers but I see 2 scenarios :
1) they don't care about the social distance and just act like they used to
2) there will be no people
Not many tourists are going to be there either…
I'm also really looking forward to traveling back to Thailand, but I think we have to grit our teeth for a while :'(
