Lumpy skin disease is a disaster for many small farmers in Thailand. This virus has been on its way from Africa for several years and there is an excellent vaccine for it, which Thailand could have had for a long time. Especially considering that there have been infections in Vietnam, India and China for more than a year.
It is the African cowpox virus, which is much more aggressive than the known cowpox virus, which is generally only on the udders.
The virus is not deadly if you treat the cows properly. Daily washing and antibiotics for bacterial infections that can develop through the vesicles.
Unfortunately, the cows of the small farmers are now dying. They have no idea what to do. The government recommends that mosquito nets be stretched above and around the cows, so that the flies that spread it cannot reach them. That's like stopping a river by letting all the motorboats push the water back. Maybe installing fly showers is also an idea. Then the flies can wash the virus off their feet.
The virus can also infect humans, although that doesn't happen often. Anyway, Thailand is spared nothing, something you see in many dictatorships.

There is a vaccine for LSD in Thailand. The department of livestock has repeatedly posted messages via social media to inform farmers. The first 60000 vaccines arrived in Thailand at the end of May. On Facebook, expat groups have already made calls to support poor farmers in their area to purchase the vaccines.
Good New, Bing,
Where can we provide that support. Facebook, I don't do that.
You can give support in your own environment, contact a vet. Bottle with 20 doses cost me 1800 baht. Made 3 farmers happy.
Virus for which a vaccine has been available for a long time, but not yet in Thailand.
Sounds familiar.
