After a long period of standstill and slowdown in the export of agricultural products, a new way has been found to transport goods back to China and thus start exports. For this, Thailand has to circumvent various obstacles in order to get their products quickly and efficiently transported to China.

China is Thailand's largest buyer of agricultural products and food. Because Thailand does not border China, perishable goods such as fruit and vegetables from Thai farms and warehouses were transported by truck via Vietnam and Laos. Ships and planes were also used, but these routes are too cumbersome due to the Covid-19 crisis. It led to delays and it caused many cumbersome actions for ships because of border controls.

To get around this, Thailand has started with a "2-phase" system. The products are transported to Vietnam. There they are transferred into containers onto freight trains, which complete the delivery to China. It sounds simple, but this form of transport is a first for Thailand.

The Deputy Minister of Agriculture has great confidence in this new working method.
