If you plan to visit Pattaya and/or Jomtien this Saturday, May 21, as you usually do on Saturdays, you should seriously consider traffic congestion. Then the Pattaya Triathlon 2016 will take place, which means that many roads will be inaccessible from early in the morning until at least in the afternoon.

The center of activity is at the beginning of Beach Road, say in front of the Amari Hotel. Beach Road is therefore closed. There they start with the swimming, after which the bicycle is taken, which takes the participants from Beach Road to Jomtien Second Road, then another few kilometers on Sukhumvit Road to Sattahip and back. It then concludes with the running, for which the route again leads along Beach Road, then Pratumnak Hill and then back via Beach Road. You can see the entire briefing of this competition at:

You are of course welcome to experience the spectacle up close, but otherwise you are recommended to plan a visit to Pattaya and/or Jomtien on another day.

It is a pity that the beautiful triathlon sport has become one here
sport for the happy few with entry prices 3 to 4 times higher than in europe
where wages are at least 10 times as high.
eg Kanchanaburi half triathlon entry fee starts at 22o$ for the early one
entrants and goes to $300 if you're a little late.
The proportions are therefore quite skewed and I think the triathlon is
    just big business here.
    Pity
