Agenda: Ambassador Karel Hartogh visits NL community Hua Hin on August 30

In light of the recent attacks, Ambassador Karel Hartogh will visit Hua Hin on Tuesday evening 30 August for a meeting with the Dutch community.
He then explains the consular and other activities of the embassy and the possible background to the attacks. He would also like to inform himself about the experiences and feelings within the NL community in Hua Hin.
Naturally, attention is also paid to 'the status of the embassy' one year after the ambassador took office and the services provided by the embassy. Of course, just like last year, ample time has been reserved for asking questions. Members of the consular section travel with the ambassador.
The meeting will again take place in the Dutch café-restaurant annex guesthouse “Say Cheese”, thanks to Jeroen Groenewegen for the hospitality offered.
Drinks start at 18.00:19.00 PM, ambassador presence 22.00:XNUMX PM-XNUMX:XNUMX PM
Another great initiative by the Dutch ambassador.
I am sorry that I do not read any initiative of the Belgian ambassador here. This blog is a Dutch blog and perhaps initially (exclusively) intended for Dutch people. I fully understand that. But I have the impression that many Flemish people also read this blog. Personally, I don't know of a Flemish blog that is at least as good in quality as this blog.
Don't take this response from me as a form of criticism, but one full of praise for you.
Certainly, it is nice that the Dutch embassy, despite cutbacks and prioritizing business interests and political ties, also listens to the concerns and questions of Dutch expats, pensioners or long-term residents in Thailand. And it also breeds goodwill, which in turn benefits the embassy itself.
The Flemish embassy has also had conversations with Flemish/Belgian residents in Thailand, for example a gentleman from the visa department who explained how it works and answered questions about it. But unfortunately for the Flemish people that seems like something from a few years ago.
Felt Flemings here on the blog and that only makes it more fun. The only thing I miss on this wonderful blog is an enthusiastic Flemish person who is on top of Flemish embassy/migration matters. I will not be the only reader who would know more about the Flemish embassy or migration from Thai to Belgium. Internationally - in English - the flush of quality blogs and forums is also thin. For example, there is ThaiVisa, but in addition to a lot of grumbling and crazy **** there is also a lack of a 'we' feeling. Then there are 1-2 forums where mostly Brits hang out and that's about it. Surprisingly there is no real English equivalent of this blog as far as I know.
So I am happy with the 'we' feeling here and an involved embassy. 🙂 Hua Hin is a bit far from the Netherlands for a trip… So I look forward to a report of what will certainly be a beautiful evening.
Felt = Sufficient (more is always allowed)
thats a good initiative. hope too, if he has time to head towards khon kaen.
