Agenda: Two trips in June from the Bikerboys Hua Hin

The biker boys Hua Hin have planned two nice trips again, to the Country Roads to the northwest and west of Hua Hin and to the extensive beaches south of Hua Hin. Participation free. We ride with smaller motorbikes, max 150 cc. Average speed is 60 km/h. Every hour is a rest break. Reservation is required.

Sunday June 10 – Country Roads Northwest and West of Hua Hin (185 km)

From Hua Hin we drive west and further northwest towards Kaeng Krachang National Park. At the border of the National Park we then drive past the extensive Ban Yang Chum Reservoir. Once past the lake we enter the wild west, a wooded and mountainous area on the border with Myanmar. The asphalt roads and dirt roads alternate. Beautiful nature with practically no traffic. A dream for nature lovers. Finally we arrive in the village of Palu U, the place where the famous waterfalls are located. Lunch in our local restaurant on the hill. From there back east towards Hua Hin and in Ban Nong Phlap we turn right to the Hua Hin Vineyards known by our bikers.

Time for coffee or a refreshing glass of local cider and a nice chat and then perhaps the nicest part of the road follows. Nice in terms of nature but especially to drive: beautiful roads with many pleasant bends between the mountains. No traffic, the track is for us alone and the speed can be increased a bit. After the socializing, we will then arrive at Pran Buri Dam for a final sunset stop. Then another 15 km to Hua Hin.

Sunday June 24 – Via the African route in the mountainous West to the vast beaches south of Hua Hin (145km)

We drive west to the beautiful Pran Buri Lake where we take a group photo. From there we take a dirt road along the south side of the lake which is very adventurous. Many ups and downs, turns and obstacles require some driving skill. Everyone at their own pace and preferably stopping as little as possible with the front brake is our recommendation. The landscapes are beautiful but you can't enjoy them much while driving because of the concentration on the road. Three photo stops are provided to capture the beautiful views of the lake and the mountains. The wild nature and the nature of the road, the small primitive living quarters, the very primitive and limited livestock keep reminiscent of typical African landscapes. After about 3 km we join a beautiful asphalt road that leads us through a wonderful landscape to Pran Buri. There is always our coffee stop where we can talk to each other for half an hour.

In Pak Nam Pran we join the coast where we end up in another world. A beautiful coastal road where tourism is slowly developing. We also bypass the Khao Kalok mountain and end up in our regular restaurant at Dolphin Bay. After a tasty buffet we drive back to Hua Hin via some scenic roads. Stop for a moment at the closed Maha Samutr Laguna giant construction project. I will write another article about this enigmatic phenomenon.
