Those staying in Bangkok should definitely check out the annual Ngan Wat Phu Khao Thong temple fair at Wat Saket which lasts 10 days. The fair is open until next Wednesday from 17.00 pm to midnight.

The temple fair is a fun event in the capital, which coincides with the Loy Krathong celebration every year. You can of course go there for street food, but there are also many attractions to enjoy such as a shooting gallery, a merry-go-round, a Ferris wheel and a haunted house.

Furthermore, the temple hosts the annual traditional activities to worship Buddha relics. Religious activities also include covering the golden chedi with a bright red cloth (who among the readers knows what this means?).

The Wat Saket is a stone's throw from the famous Khao San Road, a popular area with a vibrant nightlife among young foreign tourists and Thais alike.
