The Pattaya Coast Guard had a busy day on Thursday, January 11. An American had rented a jet ski, but turned out not to be able to handle such a craft. During the trip he forgot to keep an eye on his surroundings and got lost.

Due to the unsettled sea, he fell off the jet ski. However, he was unable to get back on. When the Coast Guard was alerted, they found him hanging from ropes at a demarcation, exhausted. He was returned to shore unharmed. Yet it could have turned out differently, because he was not wearing a life jacket against the regulations.

The second rescue operation of the day involved a 35-year-old Chinese tourist who sustained a back injury and had to be taken from Koh Larn on a stretcher to a hospital in Pattaya. This went off without a hitch and Surat Thepchayto, director of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation department, was pleased to look back on a successful day.

  1. T says up

Partly the fault of the landlords, who must know when the sea is too rough to go out on the open water with such a thing.
And then just don't rent maja then they miss out on money so you get these kinds of negative messages.
