Thai woman's body hair

Body hair is a relic that we got from our distant ancestors. Almost all mammals have body hair. But the moment we started walking upright, body hair has become an obstacle, because it reduces the body's ability to cool down. So evolution left little body hair.

Except in places where it can still have a function, for example on top of the head, to prevent the sun's rays. Or under the armpits and at the pubic area, it's there to trap the odors of sweat, which makes you more attractive to the opposite sex. The small downy hairs that have remained on the entire body have no real function anymore.

I am leaving out the body hair of the man, because we are going to talk about the body hair of the woman and specifically that of the Thai woman.

Turnaround in 2017

I don't know how people used to think about female body hair, but in my life it was true that women could do what they wanted with their head hair. Long or short, perming, dyeing, ringlets, ponytails, in short, women did what they wanted to look attractive. Body hair in other places was not considered beautiful by us men, at least that is what women think. Driven mad by industry marketing and imagery, razors, shaving soaps, creams and even razors were – and still are – sold to remove underarm and pubic hair.

Various articles in newspapers and magazines now report that a turnaround can be observed in 2017. More and more women have had enough of all that hassle, especially when it comes to hair growth under the armpits and in the pubic area and are growing their body hair again. Those women do not want to be judged by that body hair, but by other qualities of a personal nature.

Thailand

I don't think that development has reached Thailand yet. Apart from the head hair, there is still plenty of cutting, shaving, dyeing and whatnot. I will say something about the three previously mentioned body parts where hair growth occurs in Thai women. Mind you, I am not an expert, what I say is purely personal based on my own experiences.

Scalp hair

In my opinion, a Thai woman should have long black hair, period. I made it clear to my Thai wife early on in our relationship that she should never have her hair cut off, for me that beautiful long hair reaching far past her shoulders was part of her personality. She never intended to, not just because I wanted her to. And yet it happened. Years ago she went out for a night with a bunch of friends and came home with a cropped head. I was furious and she kept laughing at me. Why? Why? After about ten minutes my wife thought it was enough and with a deft movement she pulled the wig off her head, so that the long hair was free again. All the girls had bought such a wig out of annoyance, which was indistinguishable from their real hair. They have enjoyed fooling their partners in this way.

But not all Thai women have long black hair. Also cut short or at least shorter and possibly a color can also be quite nice. Personally, I think that part of the long hair is dyed red-brown is quite acceptable, but I think it's going too far if it's bleached blonde. Last night I saw a young lady with long bleached hair, about two inches from the ends of which were fiery red, as if her hair were on fire. Fierce!

Armpit hair

Indeed, you don't see much armpit hair on Thai women. My wife also sometimes spends hours shaving it and then tweezing it again. My unfortunately deceased Dutch wife did not shave there and as far as I am concerned, the Thai women can also let their hair grow. It really doesn't make them any less attractive.

Pubic area

The hair growth in the pubic area was also left alone with my Dutch wife. At most, the "bikini line" was shaved before a holiday, because it was considered an ugly sight if pubic hair was visible when wearing swimwear.

The hair growth of the Thai woman is not really exuberant, you usually don't have to go through a rough forest to reach the hole. Yet many Thai women shave that little bit of pubic hair. In the a go go bars where the ladies sometimes dance completely naked around the pole, you see almost only clean-shaven private parts.

My wife also wants to be clean-shaven there, but the area is of course not easy to reach with a razor and the result is also incalculable. That's why I get to do that job every now and then and I do it with pleasure. I'm sure I'm not telling you a secret when I say that it is a very erotic event!

There is another exception to shaving in the pubic area, namely the ladies in the soapy massage parlors. They do have a tuft of hair in the pubic area, because that gives the body massage something extra.

Finally

Finally, an anecdote that I once heard in Hengelo, where relatively many people of Turkish origin live. There, a young Turkish woman went to a barbershop and asked the barber if he wanted to shave her pubic area. The man became angry and made it clear that he was a decent person and would certainly not comply with such requests. Too bad, said the girl, I heard from many friends that you are a shitty hairdresser!

The sweat smell to make you more attractive?
I have met many people in my life that I wish they had been a little less "attractive".

The down hair still has a function, as a warning against insects, for example.

Incidentally, the statement that we lost our hair because we started walking upright escapes me a bit.
Upright, or on all fours, seems to make little difference to cooling.
You would rather expect that you warm up less upright with the sun above your head than on your hands and feet.
Because upright you have a smaller body surface that is heated by the sun.

yeah, that's what people are concerned about.
Isn't it true that the woman herself can decide what is good for her, her?
Armpit fresh, pubic hair related provisions will not be that difficult for a woman to decide on that herself.
You will only have one of those guys who will decide what is good for his “possession” from whatever ego material he has.

Women decide for themselves what they do with their bodies. We don't belong to anyone. A man can of course indicate what he thinks is beautiful. The woman decides whether she takes into account what you think is beautiful. Also think about inner beauty. you yourself a beauty?

Thank you John for your response, that q are not owned by men and that we can wear our hair nice and short in the heat if we feel like it.
We are certainly not a showpiece.

As far as evolution is concerned, it has been the same story for years… time and time again it is claimed that animals or we change because we no longer “need” something or, on the contrary, we do. The fact is that the whole process of evolution is an arbitrariness of nature. We and all other living beings on this earth keep producing offspring with certain characteristics. And when those certain traits are preferred by entire animal species or that they can survive better with those kinds of traits, then that comes to the fore. We don't lose hair because we walk upright. Really nonsense. We lose hair because those with less hair have more offspring with the same traits.
Sometimes a picture is painted on various media about what we as humans would look like in the future. Some think we have a bigger head, even less hair, or some other distortion. Nothing is less true.
In the first place, it has already been established that thousands of years ago our ancestors were a lot more intelligent than we are today. Why? Because then the weakest and also the mentally handicapped had almost no possibility to procreate. Now, because we protect the weak in our society and they can continue to have children, more and more people are born who are less strong and less intelligent. You wouldn't say it, because the average person knows more about the world than a person did 500 years ago. But that is due to our modern ability to acquire knowledge. I'm not saying we've become stupid either, just a bit less than our ancestors of a few thousand years ago.

But otherwise I can well imagine what Gringo says. I loved and love the long black hair of the Thai and other Asian women. Blonde can be beautiful, but a natural black head of hair is more beautiful than the most expensive jewelry.
My wife also had that long beautiful hair. She still has beautiful hair. However, she had it shortened considerably four weeks ago. And you know what? I like it too! The long hair looks a bit wilder, but the shorter one gives her a slightly coquettish look. For me, she can leave it that way.

About the other body parts…. Well, I don't mind the pubic area getting clipped. The last few days I've been watching old episodes of Benny Hill... it's crazy enough that all those ladies probably wore a lot of hair under that time... An unappetizing thought for me...

What is a big difference is that hair on arms and legs is very short or absent in many Asians (non-Indian people). That does look very nice. I will not say that Dutch women should shave more… after all, they should decide for themselves… but if I have a choice (and I did), I will go for a woman with little or no hair on legs and arms….

The theory of evolution says: 'Survival of the fittest'. Now we all know 'the less hair, the fitter (and prettier)'. The choice of a partner to have children is therefore strongly determined by the amount of hair. You can call it survival of the baldest. You can see that in Thailand, where women opt en masse for bald men. That also means that the eastern hair-poor man is at the top of evolution, right?

  4. Marcel says up

    Dear Ruud.
I assume that by 'walking upright', Gringo refers to the subsequent developments towards 'civilization' in which the 'animal' started wearing human clothing to keep warm. The logical consequence ... less hair needed to keep the body warm ... and perhaps also less hair needed to protect the body against other 'vermin'.
The developments of the last decades (rising temperature on earth) also evoke interesting visions with regard to 'our' future hair growth 🙂

    • Jack S says up

And that is exactly where the concept of evolution goes wrong. The body does not lose hair because it is less needed, but because we paid more attention to partners with less hair when choosing a partner. In our world, where we have artificial cooling, if temperatures start to rise, nothing will happen unless it gets so hot that only children who are heat resistant reproduce and those who can't stand a hot climate are already under the sod before they produce offspring…

I have been a hairdresser in Belgium for 46 years.
Now that I have been living in Thailand for 15 years, I notice that many women have beautiful black hair.
But now many are having their hair dyed…blonde…red…etc.
Not pretty! And the new fashion now is that they shave their eyebrows and get a tattoo… even uglier.
But yes… everyone has their own thoughts on this.

Am I glad that most Thai ladies cannot read Dutch with such advice, I could almost drown in excess hair in the most unwanted places.
What a pleasure it is for me to see and often admire the well-dressed and fresh-looking Thai ladies for their style and class.
An asian girl with blond hair and those beautiful contrasting eyes always makes me smile because the combination can be so original and beautiful.
But as I said, I leave it with pleasure and confidence to the Thai woman how she wants to look and let me have the strong impression that in almost 99 percent of the cases this also turns out to be very successful.

“I made it clear to my Thai wife early on in our relationship that she should never have her hair cut off “…I don't know you Gringo…but who are you to judge. A woman still decides for herself what she does or does not do with her body or hair. “I would kick him under his ban… if he had something.” This was my better half's reaction when she read this, and I agree with her. We're not cave dwellers anymore, I thought.
    Now back to body hair.
It is a known fact that Islamic people get rid of armpit hair and pubic hair because of cleanliness (idiot word, by the way, just like pubic area is nothing to be ashamed of, I taught my children very quickly that it is something beautiful / fun).
The ancient Greeks and Romans did the same because it looked more beautiful, a sign of strength and vitality and also because of its cleanliness. Many peoples who are not yet “corrupted and indoctrinated” by the western world/church are also removing their body hair for the same reasons mentioned above.
One of the reasons that people in the Western world have stopped grooming / shaving is because of the church, which for all sorts of fallacies has influenced people in such a way that, among other things, touching the (that's where the idiotic word comes) again) pubic area was dirty and bad.
I myself have been shaving since I was 16 because it didn't look nice. That was at a time (soon to be 56 years) when this was not accepted at all. It was also a bit difficult in the beginning after taking a shower at football.. However, within 3 weeks I never heard anything again ... there were 3 "followers". Personally, I don't like body hair, but I would never require a woman to do what I want with her hair. On the other hand, I would never start a relationship with a woman who wouldn't be shaved and of course I wouldn't ask if she would do it for me either. Every person is free what he/she does with his/her body.

Perhaps a surprise , Telegraaf today , hair is in again !!

  9. January says up

It's not up to us to decide whether or not the hair is long or dyed, I just want to get rid of people
Asian origin naturally have black hair, this makes them attractive, dyeing the hair is something that has come over from the west, just like many products, this does not mean that all of this is an improvement.

    Evolution left little hair?
So every morning I stand in front of Jan L… shaving me! (from above! 555)

Perhaps the "new" hairstyle of the women is a reaction
on the "modern" unshaven man or even with a beard growth where a
IS fighter could be jealous of.
What would a Thai woman write/say about these Farangs?

  11. thea says up

Yes, why should Asian and black women limit themselves to their own hair color and why should Western women wear all the colors of the rainbow.

Gringo wrote: “In my view, a Thai woman should have long black hair, period. I made it clear to my Thai wife early on in our relationship that she should never have her hair cut," With all due respect Gringo, but if your partner doesn't even get the freedom from you to choose whether to go short or long If she wants to walk around, I think that's a bit bad. I myself am already balding. In any case, I am glad that my partner does not say to me: “In my opinion, a man should have hair, period. Go buy a wig next week”.

  13. Ronald says up

My opinion is that I like to see shaved armpits on any woman and certainly limit her pubic hair to just a small v on the front side, around the vagina I think it is much fresher if a woman is well shaved there, of course determines always the woman herself what she does but I certainly have my preference in that area, with myself I also take care of clean armpits and as little pubic hair as possible.

  14. Antonio says up

Too bad about shaving the pubic hairs because unfortunately I would rather have a hairy one than bald….
Most Thai women like to shave… and hair growth in the pubic area of course has a function but that is another topic….
    Success…

Just a few comments on some of the comments:
    @Ruud (09.36)
The first paragraph of my story is a verbatim quote from an article by Marc Nelissen, an evolutionary biologist on the website motherboard.vice.com. I used it as a primer to outline my unscientific observations of body hair in Thai women.
It is a bit crooked Dutch at times, but I think that Marc means exactly the same as what you say about the difference before and after the upright existence of man.
By the way, the article is quite worth reading with all kinds of facts about hair growth, see https://motherboard.vice.com/nl/article/d7dy8m/-alles-wat-je-wil-weten-over-lichaamshaar
    @Nel Bartels (12.31)
Completely agree with you. The immediate reason for my story were articles in De Volkskrant and De Telegraaf, which reported on the revolution in 2017, in which women are no longer, at least less, guided by advertising about beauty without hair growth in certain parts of the body.
    @Sjeng (13.01)
If I come across as a tyrant, who does say what my wife can and cannot do with her hair, then I have not described it well. Of course she would decide what happens to the hair herself, but as stated in other responses, she also takes my wishes into account. Besides, she never showed any need to have her hair cut off. That's why the prank with the wig was so much fun!
    Eugene (15.15)
You don't know half the amount of freedom my wife has in all her doings. See also my commentary on Nel Bartels

Well said Gringo. Thai women look great with their silky black hair. Also my wife CANNOT cut her hair from me. Would be a shame forever. Greetings Henk
