From Pratamnak Hill there was once a magnificent view, until it was interrupted and ruined by the so-called Waterfront Project. Construction has been halted for quite some time now, because many objections were lodged.

The former mayor of Pattaya admitted at the time that not all rules and regulations were followed closely in Pattaya and that the final height had not been determined. The sales price of the condos was already between 10 and 100 million Baht, of which 80% had already been sold, according to the project developers.

Recently, in July 2016, Mr. Noppadol Mekmekha with his team at the Pattaya City Hall to sit down with the project developers to find a solution. Two major bottlenecks held back the further construction of this enormous building. It is partly built on municipal land. Now people everywhere in Thailand are trying to get back land that belongs to the state and has been illegally cultivated as a political spearhead. Condos and hotels have already been demolished elsewhere and the improper use of land by farmers has also been tackled.

How they intend to solve this here will soon become clear. The second important point is that the building has been built 5 floors higher without permission. To accommodate all parties, it has been agreed to organize another meeting soon. A deadline has not been set.

That will turn out just like with that building in Bangkok.
Over the next 10 years, decay will set in, the basement will fill with water and a natural fish pond will be created.
    Also nice……

I wonder if those condo people are going to get their money back.
There must have already been a down payment.

However, I do not expect that 80% of the condos have indeed been sold.
At most to another “bv” of the builder, to entice people to buy with that 80% sold.

Just taper off with a hefty fine on it, but be divided fairly between the population 😉

Then the rebar started to rust.
Small cracks formed in the concrete.
After the building was completed, the rusting process continued.

Just ask for a price, and the illegal condition of / building is resolved, then no one will risk a repeat

Well, the view is already ruined anyway…so I would say: finish the building completely or tear it down to the ground…doing nothing and just talking is the worst solution…
