Traveling down the road in Thailand

I had previously seen an announcement from the Flemish VRT about a program “Down the Road”, in which Dieter Coppens and co-supervisor Saar go on a journey together with six young people with Down syndrome.

It has been going on for a number of years, but the subject has never really fascinated me. This time it is different, because in this fifth season the trip went to Thailand and I wanted to see how and what the group experienced in my country of residence. I just wanted to get an impression, but I stuck around, because it's just a fun program.

In a review, Angela de Jong of the AD writes about the new series:

“Simply an honest program, in which everyone can and dares to be themselves, respect prevails and a smile always follows quickly after the tears. Like during the group's visit to a bar full of Thai ladyboys, which I highly recommend you check back. Not to watch monkeys, but to see what fun and happiness look like. And how contagious that is, even without Down.”

    Was broadcast in Belgium at the end of September 2022 I thought.
    Highly recommended indeed, especially since it is now set in Thailand.

    Is it just me, but I thought Dieter was sometimes irresponsible with those guys.
    I know TV is sometimes fake and there must have been extra guidance

      TV is sometimes fake, yes. Of course there was always a whole team (cameras, directors, etc.) present. These never show up.
