Kanchanaburi: enjoy beautiful nature

Kanchanaburi, a province three hours' drive north of Bangkok, has beautiful nature, including cascading waterfalls and rare birds. All this in the middle of the lush jungle that you will find in the national parks such as the famous Erawan and Sai Yok park. The heart of the area is the famous River Kwai.
The largest national parks in Kanchanaburi are the Erawan and No Sai park. The province offers a rich variety of nature such as high mountains, green valleys and lush vegetation. The dense forest covers the vast majority of the jungle.
In the area you will find hidden caves, once inhabited by Neolithic man. In the caves you can admire impressive stalagmites and stalactites. Some caves are inhabited by the so-called Bumblebee bat, the smallest bat in the world, which is indeed the size of a bumblebee. A well-known cave is the Lawa cave, within walking distance of the luxurious FloatHouse resort.
Erawan
The natural parks are also the place to enjoy beautiful waterfalls. The most impressive is the Erawan waterfall that consists of no less than seven different levels. Prepare yourself for an adventurous walk through the jungle, rewarded with a wonderfully cooling bath of fresh, natural water. Other beautiful waterfalls include Sai Yok Yai and Sai Yok Noi waterfall, ideal for a picnic or canoe trip. There is much more to see, such as the hot springs in the middle of the jungle. So don't forget to bring your swimsuit when you go here.
In addition to the Bumblebee bat, there are many other wild animals that live in the jungle. If you are lucky you might spot a gibbon (monkey), flying squirrel, deer, serow (looks like a goat/antelope), eagle, loris, king cobra or python. It is just a selection of all the wildlife in this region. Don't forget to bring binoculars, there are many rare birds to see in the area.
